Radon is a radioactive gas. You cannot see, feel, taste or smell the Radon Gas! It is responsible for 20,000 deaths per year, on average. It is also the second leading cause of Lung Cancer. It emanates from fractured bedrock and seeps into your home in a variety of ways: from the vulnerable corners, or cracks in your foundation, to running water. You cannot see the radon, but we have the tools to detect its presence. Here, in North Georgia, radon testing is not required. However, it is highly recommended by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). If the level of Radon Gas is equal to 4pCi/L or higher, the EPA recommends a Radon Gas Mitigation.
